The Equipment We Actually Use

Every studio claims professional equipment. Here is the actual list, with the reasoning — partly so you can judge us before booking, and partly so you can copy the choices if you decide to build your own setup instead.

Microphones

Shure SM7B for guests who lean in and speak close — it is a dynamic mic, so it ignores room noise and forgives a loud talker, which is why it has been the podcast standard for years. Rode NT1 5th generation for hosts and anyone with a softer voice, because a condenser catches detail the SM7B politely discards. Dual collar mics for the newsroom setup, where the mic should not be in shot at all.

The audio chain

A RodeCaster Pro II handles gain, monitoring and multi-track recording to separate files per speaker — which matters, because one person coughing should not damage everyone's track. Closed-back headphones for every seat. Everything masters to −16 LUFS, the loudness Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube expect.

Cameras and lenses

Three cameras recording simultaneously in 4K: a wide two-shot and a tight single on each speaker, which is what lets an edit cut on answers instead of on time. Prime and fast zoom glass at f/2 and below for the shallow depth that separates a subject from a background. A monitor showing a live multi-cam split, so problems are caught during the session rather than discovered in the edit.

Lighting

Key, fill and rim per speaker, with practical warm accents in the background — the warm slats and shelf lamps you see in our footage are lights, not decoration. The setup is pre-built and only adjusted for your skin tone and wardrobe, which is why sessions start on time rather than after an hour of rigging.

The room itself

Foam and slat acoustic panelling on the reflective surfaces, a residential-market location with a low traffic noise floor, and soft furnishings that break up the remaining reflections. This is the part you cannot buy on OLX, and the reason a session here sounds different from the same gear in a bedroom.

What we don't have

A cyclorama, a large-format stage, a lighting grid for dance or fashion, or space for a fifteen-person crew. If your shoot needs those, we will tell you at the enquiry stage rather than after you have paid a deposit.
